How I support teams

Mechanical engineering support for aerospace and advanced hardware teams developing complex, high-reliability systems.
I work with teams at different stages of development from early concept through production - providing focused support where it matters most.
Calipers and Technical Drawing
  • Mechanical System Design

Support development of mechanical systems from early architecture through detailed design, with emphasis on performance, manufacturability, and integration.
    Scope Includes:
    • Structural and mechanism design
    • Concept development and trade studies
    • Packaging and layout of mechanical systems
    • Design for manufacturability and assembly
    Relevant Experience:
    • Contributed to spaceflight hardware development at Northrop Grumman
    • Supported UAV system design and integration at Shield AI
    • Experience developing hardware for space applications at Redwire Space
    Example Contributions:
    • Supported development of structural and mechanical components under aggressive program timelines
    • Worked across disciplines to align mechanical design with system-level requirements
  • Design Review & Risk Reduction

Independent, system-aware evaluation of mechanical designs to identify risks early - before they impact hardware, cost, or schedule.
    Scope Includes:
    • Cross-disciplinary design review (thermal, structural, manufacturing)
    • Tolerance stack analysis and interface validation
    • Identification of integration and manufacturability risks
    • Failure mode awareness and mitigation
    Relevant Experience:
    • Participated in design reviews for complex aerospace systems across multiple programs
    • Exposure to full lifecycle development environments, from concept through production
    Example Contributions:
    • Identified interface and tolerance risks in multi-component assemblies
    • Helped resolve cross-discipline conflicts impacting system performance
  • Design → Production Support

Bridging the gap between engineering intent and buildable hardware - ensuring designs are complete, manufacturable, and ready for suppliers.
    Scope Includes:
    • Drawing packages and release readiness
    • GD&T and tolerance definition
    • Supplier-ready documentation
    • Support during early production and first articles
    Relevant Experience:
    • Supported transition of mechanical designs into production environments
    • Experience working with manufacturing constraints and supplier requirements
    Example Contributions:
    • Improved manufacturability of components prior to release
    • Supported resolution of issues discovered during build, production, and test
  • Targeted Technical Support

Focused support for specific challenges, design iterations, or short-term needs.
    Examples:
    • Mechanism troubleshooting or redesign
    • Structural updates for performance, mass, or packaging constraints
    • Rapid iteration under schedule pressure
    Relevant Experience:
    • Experience stepping into active programs and contributing quickly
    • Comfortable working within partially defined or evolving designs
    Example Contributions:
    • Improved manufacturability of components prior to release
    • Supported resolution of issues discovered during build, production, and test

Engagement Approach

I integrate with existing teams to provide focused mechanical engineering support where it's most needed - whether early in design or deep in development.
How I Work:
  • Quick ramp-up into active programs with minimal overhead
  • Flexible engagement aligned to your scope, timeline, and constraints
  • Direct collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams
  • Clear, actionable output - designs, analyses, and documentation ready for use
Typical Engagements:
  • Short-term support on critical design efforts
  • Design review ahead of key milestones (PDR/CDR)
  • Focused workstreams to unblock development or production
The goal is to contribute effectively within your existing workflow - not create additional process.
